Dancing with the Stars’ Karina Smirnoff hosted JCPenney’s New Year, New You Fitness Event in JCPenney’s SoHo showroom in NYC. Karina looked radiant and fit in JCPenney’s Xersion and CityStr
The event was fab and in addition to Karina, her fellow DWTS Dancer Henry Byalikov also brought his expertise to the floor teaching salsa and high octane routines to the excited participants. I had a chance to take his class and let me tell you there was a whole lotta hip jiving and twisting going on–and not all of it good–mostly I’m referring to me. Henry of course made everything look easy as pie.
Guests were then treated to fresh juices created by celebrity nutritionist and chef, Melissa Petitto. She was showcasing JCPenney’s national brand juicers to quench peoples’ thirst. JCPenney has trusted brands from Jack LaLanne’s Power Juicer to the Magic Bullet Blender. Before I got my Vitamix (which is god-like) I had the Bullet and must say it treated me pretty well. While I love my Vitamix, which was a wedding present, these juicers and blenders fit a bit better into a family’s healthy lifestyle and budget.
When asked about Season 18 of DWTS Karina was tightlipped about details and mentioned that the announcements would still be a few weeks away. I haven’t heard anything yet so I am just as anxious and excited as everyone else! When asked who would be her ultimate dancing partner, dead or alive, she said, Michael Jackson. His talent and dancing was amazing and it would have been an honor and a treat to dance with him.
How are your New Year’s resolutions going? Let me know in the comments?!
For those of you who may be wondering where the heck I’ve been all the time (sorry by the way), I’ve been busy traveling the world and trying to capture it on my luxury travel blog, Travelingpanties!
2013 brought me to some incredible places that I never even dreamed of visiting! Among my favorites are Paris, Antigua, St. Barth, Nevis ,Charleston and Cape Breton. Here are some of my favorite posts in 2013 in case you missed ‘em!
Most recently, I jetted off to Nevis in the West Indies. I had a chance to visit the Four Seasons Nevis there and really (unsurprisingly) enjoyed myself. This sleepy island is so charming and beautiful. If you’re looking for exclusivity and luxury, this is your place.
I popped over to Antigua and checked out the Carlisle Bay Hotel. This luxe resort had a boutique feel while maintaining all the luxuriousness of the best bigger name hotels. You could walk from your room to the water in less than 30 seconds. I just couldn’t get over how blue the water was here!
And while we’re on the subject of the Caribbean, I also popped over to St. Barth! This chic French starlet of the Caribbean was so glamorous and effortlessly cool, I just couldn’t get over it. The water, the parties, the clientele. I stayed at the Tom Beach hotel, owned by the founder of Le Ti St. Barth, the island’s coolest club. I absolutely loved my stay here. Find out why!
Believe it or not, I even had time to stop by Disney World! I was invited to preview Disney’s latest and greatest Vacation Club property: The Villas at the Grand Floridian Resort. There was a mouse in my house and I liked it! Luxury loving families now will rejoice because they can stay in a true Five Star room on the Disney property.
Then I popped over to the Four Seasons Las Vegas for a very close friend’s wedding. It’s so nice to have an option in Vegas nearby but just outside of the hustle and bustle (and smoke and mania). I loved this sanctuary that lets you feel away from it all.
I also visited Park City Utah! I found plenty of luxury and even got to try out a few outdoorsy activities! I found out that there is plenty to do here all year-round! The local saying goes–come for ski season, stay for the summers!
I also checked out Charleston, South Carolina. This is definitely one of my new favorite cities in the world. It’s so charming, it’s hard not to fall in love! But the food here is just incredible. I could hardly fit into my pants by the time I made it back! Check out my post about where to eat in Charleston!
And then I came back to my home base of New York City! Here are a few of my favorite bars to get cozy in this chilly holiday season!
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
It’s the winter, which means it can get a little depressing. I find that having fun nails spices up otherwise drab and dreary outfits, which always consist of Boots, skinny jeans and a sweater. Ugh! And I just found a new nail polish line that I’m obsessed with: Cult Cosmetics!
All CULT Cosmetic nail polishes are high quality and free of carcinogens. All CULT Cosmetic products are cruelty free and are also always gorgeous!
Here are 4 reasons that CULT nail polish rocks:
1. You only need one application! And this is true! I tried it. Bye-bye watery nail polish!
2. CULT Cosmetics formula is Five Free containing no Toluene, Formaldehyde, DBP, Camphor, or Formaldehyde Resin, found in many other popular polish brands.
3. CULT Cosmetics nail polish is made in California. CULT is located just one block from the Pacific Ocean in downtown Santa Monica. Its color and design selections are inspired, formulated, mixed and bottled in California.
4. CULT is Animal-Friendly. As an ethical company with a deep love for animals, CULT guarantees that NO animal testing will ever be conducted or commissioned for CULT polishes, or their ingredients, in any phase of product development by the company or its suppliers.
To check out their latest collection and find out where the polishes are available for purchase, check out Cult Cosmetics online. Individual polishes are $12
If you’re interested though CULT also has this cool service called Blackbox. Blackbox is a VIP service for customers who ask for our trend forecasting and auto-delivery services. With Blackbox, every month you receive the latest nail colors plus tips, a nail tool and the occasional monthly bonus. CULT collaborates with respected bloggers, cosmetic professions and trendsetters to ensure that you’re getting what will be in next month’s fashion magazine (before your friends even see it!)
Blackbox comes each month for $19.99 + shipping. No obligation, cancel at any time.
*I was sent three nail polishes to try out for purposes of this review but as always you can’t buy the love. I receive multiple packages a week and very few make it onto the site!*
I know it’s been a while since I’ve done a post about beauty products and especially about beauty products that are organic and healthy for you! Until now I just hadn’t tried anything that really inspired me. What I mean is that nothing was that amazing that I had tried and thus not really post-worthy. But Jungleman All-Natural Deodorant is made entirely from 100% all-natural products, with an ingredient list so short (corn starch, sustainable palm oil from non-peatlands, sodium bicarbonate, and tea tree oil) that it lets me rest easy that I’m not ingesting any weird petrochemicals.
The best part? I swear this natural deodorant actually works! I swear! Even a friend who shall not be named (a man) who would go through about a stick of deodorant a week, swears by this stuff. And he can get pretty sweaty (he says this not me!). I wear this stuff though now and I have never had a hint of bad odor. It’s miraculous! Whether I’m at the gym or dripping sweat in the Caribbean, I’ve put this stuff to the test.
So, it’s not mythical after all! You can be 100% all-natural and 100% odor free at the same time.
So it’s kind of funny going on, and you have to use a bit of pressure, but I swear, once it’s on you will stay fresh all day long! And my sister who has insanely sensitive skin uses this and has never once had a problem with skin irritation!
