No one loved Mean Girls more than this
mean girl. Although I refuse to see Les Mis the movie, I find it just too heart wrenching, I can't put myself through it again! I saw it on Broadway and that was enough for me. Anyway, check out the hilarious Les Mean Girls website. It'll crack you up if you're a fan of Regina, Cady, Gretchen or Karen!
The other day I had the pleasure to meet Mr. Angelo David at his salon. The salon has a heavy focus on solutions for hair loss and hair extensions. But that's not all, they are also experts at giving cut, color and the style that's perfect for you. I haven't ever had a haircut here yet so I'll have to keep you posted on that front but I did get to try out a few of Angelo David's prize products.
I had always been curious about purchasing a Mason Pearson hairbrush but truthfully, I was too cheap. On my way out of my meeting with Angelo David, fellow Upper-East-Sider and Foodie, he handed me one of his Angelo David paddle brushes. (Squeal!) I of course immediately went home and in a true Rapunzel fashion started brushing my long locks. I had bought a knockoff brush from Sephora that I thought would do the same thing but after trying both, there is a huge difference, especially if you have long hair. The Sephora brush scratches my scalp so much I could barely manage to use it.
In the winter my hair gets especially brittle and breaks so much from to the cold, dry weather. Between my yanking and pulling brushes through it, my hair in the winter always takes a beating.
To avoid this, Angelo recommended that I brush my hair with my new Paddle Brush before I shower, starting with the ends and working my way up to the roots. This way when my hair is wet and at its most vulnerable it will already be somewhat detangled (less vulnerable to my impatient fingers). The brush is also ideal for smoothing, styling and conditioning.
I also tried out Angelo David's detangling spray. I don't know when this went out of style but if you have long hair or extensions, this is a godsend. It seems no matter how untangled and smooth my hair feels in the shower, the second I step out again it's in knots. Now, I spray a bit of Angelo David Detangling Spray in and use my brush and I'm good to go.
The entire process of tugging my brush aggressively through my mane how now become painless. Angelo, my hair and I both thank you profusely!
If you're like me, make your styling experience a whole lot easier and fight winter hair breakage with Angelo David's products available online or at the salon: 48 East 43rd St. 2nd floor.
*As I mentioned above, I received these products for free but as always, opinions herein are honest*
Last week I had a meeting with a Public Relations ladybug, Sarah Bresler, not only was she cool, but she had the coolest manicure I had ever seen. Of course I forgot to ask her what it was until I left, I had to know though so I emailed her (stalker, right?) and I found out! I just had to share it with you girls!
Of course it couldn't be easy, nothing I like ever is. The mani starts with a coat of light pink bio gel called Baby Doll, and the glitter is just loose glitter they have at the salon for nail art. I am on a mission now to find a salon in Manhattan that is up to the task!
If you live in Toronto where Sarah, the nail wizard resides, she got her nails done at Shea Coco in Toronto. Their website isn’t super high tech, but you see their work, check 'em out!
