L'OCCITANE always promotes honest values and positive change and its chosen to sponsor the WorldRiderZ in their round-the-world bike journey to raise awareness and funds to fight Chronic Kidney Disease. Stephane Etienne is a father whose life was rocked when his son was born with Chronic Kidney Disease. Stephane and his friend chose to set out on a bike journey, crossing 9 countries. L'OCCITANE gave Stephane and friend, Paul Torriero travel survival kits to guarantee their bods stayed in tip-top shape as they set out to spread awareness and raise money. 

The other day after work I went to L'OCCITANE in the Flatiron District to see Stephane and Paul who were getting pampered with mini-facials and hand massages to make sure they were rested up for the rest of their trip. L'OCCITANE is so fabulous that they invited me and my sister to shop with a $200 credit each to celebrate WorldRiderZ's special journey to New York. L'OCCITANE also donated 15% of the daily sales that day to fight Chronic Kidney disease.

Most days, NYC is my playground. Today I remember it's actually a huge metropolis. NYC websites like Gothamist are reporting a shooting that's only 2 blocks from my office in front of the Empire State Building. The Daily News is reporting the shooting was between co-workers. The Associated Press is reporting the gunman is dead.
