What to Use After Sun Exposure: Weleda Sea Buckthorn Body Oil

Apr 24, 2011 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Beauty

So, anyone who lives in NYC knows that we haven't had a chance for much sun exposure yet this Spring. So I started using my Weleda Sea Buckthorn body oil anyway, even though I had planned to use it after some sun exposure since all the reviews I read touted this product as being highly effective at relieving sunburn or too much sun exposure.

Sea Buckthorn Body Oil is made with bright, biodynamically grown sea buckthorn berries, this oil is rich in extremely nourishing unsaturated fatty acids, along with vitamins A and E. It helps revitalize skin and is ideal for use after sun exposure to help prevent sun damage.

Weleda places great importance on social and ecological responsibilities. For example Weleda obtains wild crafted flowers from natural sources as opposed to farming units that grow just to kill them.

The oil has a delicious fragrance that smells a little fruity. It just reminds you of a sunny day! The best way to use, which Weleda recommends is right after you shower or bathe, put a small amount of oil onto a moist hand and massage gently until the oil is absorbed. The oil is light orange due to the presence of provitamin A so it even seemed to give you a little bit of a glow.

Natural Relief for Menstrual Pain and PMS: mn8 4 Period Pain!

Apr 24, 2011 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Health

I don't know about y'all but who doesn't suffer from PMS? Bloating, cramping, aches and pains, acne, etc. I've tried Advil, Midol, and chocolate, and nothing has really worked. I tried mn8, a magnetic device you clip in your knickers a couple days before your period is due to arrive and it's supposed to help with all types of PMS symptoms. May be TMI but you can even place it in your bra to reduce tenderness in that area.

mn8 uses a magnetic field in the pelvic region to hhelp improve circulation, thereby relieving cramps and reducing lactic acid. I'm not going to say that mn8 eliminates everything, but that my usual PMS symptoms were seriously subsided!

It's very discreet, and doesn't show at all.

It ain't cheap, it's $49.95 and can be purchased on www.ladycareusa.com. But if you're like me you've probably spent far more than that on pills, heating patches etc. so if you're looking for a natural cure this could be the way to go!

PS it's a pretty pink color!

Boob Tube Bust and Neck Firmer from Mama Mio Skincare

Apr 24, 2011 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Beauty

One of my biggest fears is that I will end up with Grandma chest. You know what I'm talking about! It's where the chest is all wrinkly and your boobs look deflated. Oy I stress even talking about it. I was so excited when mama mio told me about their product, Boob Tube, a Bust and Neck firmer made with Avocado oil, milk thistle, fenugreek, shea butter and CoQ12. Avocado oil is so moisturizing and is rich in vitamins D and E. Plus of course I love that it's so natural.

mama mio has a "No Nasties Rule" that we adore. No colourants, parabens, petroparfum, phthalates, sodium lauryl and laureth sulphates, synthetic fragrance or xenoestrogen.

I have been slathering this all over my chest, and while true, I am only 29 I figure it can't hurt to get a head start against "Grandma Chest." Eek!

As with all mama mio products, I find that you can see a difference pretty quickly because unlike drugstore products mama mio contains lots of the effective ingredients and less fillers.

Boob Tube is available at mamamio.com for $45.

Have you tried out mama mio? Let us know what you think in the comments!

*Smartypanties received this sample for consideration for a review but as always we receive tons of products and only our favorites and least favorites make it to the blog. Our opinions are always true!
