I had the pleasure to try Kerastase's Masquintense last week just as my brittle winter hair had given up on receiving any moisture until spring. Enter, la nouveau meillure ami de mes cheuveux, translation, my hair's new best friend.
The only bad thing that I can really say about this product is that it's a little pricey at $60/jar. But I think this product is worth the price. Plus, it will last a long time. I just used a tiny bit on my ends and I could easily see results after one use. My hair was shiny and softer. Another plus is that it protects against heat damage. I really think this is one of the best products I've used for my over-styled and lifeless winter locks in a while. However, the scent was not that exciting. It was a little chemically. If you're like me and just like fresh, light and natural scents this product will not make you jump for joy. But it does do what it's supposed to, which is nourish your ailing ends and crackling, dry hair.
I also had the pleasure to try Kerastase's Nectar Thermique, which is supposed to protect hair from the harmful effects of heat-styling tools. It's also supposed to improve hair straightening and drying performance. This product retails for $37. I applied this only to the ends of my hair. I'm always nervous I'll get that greasy look. After use my hair felt softer to touch and was much easier to style. I'm at the time where I am in desperate need of a haircut and my ends are all getting stuck together. This made my hair slick and easy to work with. It also did not leave my hair weighted down.
Y'all know how many of these products I try. I genuinely think that these are worth the little bit of extra investment. These products really are awesome!
Both of the above products are available at Kerastase.com.
