Best and Worst Movies to Watch When You’re Home Sick
Mar 31, 2010 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Entertainment, Movie ReviewsI had the pleasure of getting the flu this week, which means constantly sitting still, missing Passover and watching everything you've missed out on in the past 6 months. Here's my Flu-vie Movie Roundup and Review of what's worth watching and what will make you feel sicker…

Did You Hear About the Morgans?
Pretty Terrible. I mean you know, if you know what to expect going into it there are a couple funny moments but most of it is just predictable and def not Hugh or Sarah's best.

New Moon
Depressssssing times 100 but it's still amazing if you've read the books. Just great seeing it come to life. And I mean if Robert Pattinson won't make you feel better I don't know what will.

Bandslam
Actually pretty awesome. Typical high school happy ending drama. That said. Pretty entertaining and an Indie feel to it. Don't believe me that Vanessa Hudgens could be in a good movie? Check out teh reviews. It did pretty good.

True Blood
Did you read the Sookie Stackhouse novels? I'm not sure which is less exciting. I'm sorry but this series doesn't hold a candle to New Moon. Nope. nope. Nope. Edward vs. Taylor rocks my world. I mean definitely entertaining but ehh. If you haven't seen Twilight I'd do that first.

The Proposal
Pretty funny for a romantic comedy. Betty White rocks my world. Once you get past the fact that Sandra B is about 20 years older than Ryan it's pretty enjoyable.
Paper Heart
So adorable there are no words. Charlene Yi is the cutest little pumpkin ever. She's so loveable I want to marry her myself.
In My Living Room Right Now: Caldrea Fragrance Diffuser–Fragrance without the Flame
Mar 28, 2010 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: HomeAfter the Caldrea event last week I was sent some more amazing scents from Caldrea's PR peeps. As you guys know I receive many products, many of which you never hear about because they're just nothing special. I know I wrote about Caldrea's new line for Target last week but when I started using this fragrance diffuser I was so pleasantly surprised. It's awesome. It's delightful without being overwhelming. Now some of you may like for your apartments to tickle your nosehairs when you walk into the room but not moi. And that's why I love this. It's just the right amount of scent.
I'm also loving the Water Lily scent. It's filled with essential oils of jasmine and cedarleaf.
In case you didn't check out our last article about Caldrea you'll be happy to know that they use only the finest plant derived ingredients and are biodegradable and never tested on animals.
Great Book Recommendation: The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Movie Review
Mar 28, 2010 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Books!, Movie ReviewsIf you are in need of a good book to read, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is where it's at!
Suspenseful, wonderful writing, intriguing and just awesome! It's a murder mystery wrapped up with a financial scandal about an elitist family and an idealist reporter.
It is a little disturbing…well, a lot disturbing but if you can get past that it's a great story with no gaps.
We also went to see the movie (which is in Swedish). I know, how cultured are we with the foreign films with subtitles? It was great to see these characters come to life that you imagine for all these weeks as you read a book but as usual the movie just did not measure up to the book, but you know, it never does.
One interesting tidbit we learned was that the book (pre-translation) was called (in Swedish) Men Who Hate Women. Naturally they changed this title before making the book over in English. Oprah def was not going to reck a book with that title.
I'd def recommend the book but you'll see why you'd want to see the movie after. It's just an awesome thriller. I definitely stayed up way past my bedtime a few nights. It's also seriously scary though, I read it one night when Ross (fiance) was away and I was so scared I had to keep a light on when I fell asleep!
Lavera, Europe’s Greenest Beauty Brand Arrives at Target
Mar 28, 2010 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Uncategorized

Y'all know my obsession with finding green makeup and lotion products. Imagine my joy when I learned that Europe's greenest and purest brand made with gentle, efficacious organic ingredients was going to be making it's way into Target in the U.S.A.!
Green machines like moi can shop with confidence knowing that Lavera trades in harmful synthetics like parabens, emulsifiers, petroleum, phthalates, lead, synthetic preservatives and fragrances for natural, effective plant-based alternatives that are certified organic whenever possible.
Lavera was founded in 1987 and has grown to include more than 300 products. Some of the bestsellers that will be sold at Target include:

Baby/Child Sunscreen SPF 20: Waterproof and chemical free at least.

Volume Mascara: Moisturizing extracts of Organic Jojoba and Wild Rose oils hydrate all day without ever flaking. The pure, paraben free formula rinses off with a light cleanser.

Calendula Balancing Cream: This is balancing moisturizer that's herbal infused to nourish combo skin. Plant based ingredients hydrate pores without clogging them.
Eyeliner: Goes on smooth and creamy. Of course without any of the preservatives you can't pronounce.
Available at most Target stores, Target.com and Lavera.com
Carol’s Daughter Detox Shampoo: Rosemary Mint Collection
Mar 28, 2010 Author: Katie Lara | Filed under: Beauty
Anybody want a thin mint? I've been using the same shampoo for a while now, because being the cheapskate that I am I am always sure I use 'em right down to the very last drop! But when I got this duo to try I couldn't resist!
Carol’s Daughter Rosemary Mint Purifying Shampoo and Conditioner, is an invigorating duo designed to gently lift away product build-up while soothing and conditioning the hair and scalp. The ultimate hair detox, the reformulated shampoo and all-new conditioner are made with nature’s best cleansers and moisturizers to help restore hair to its original, shiny, healthy state.
It makes your scalp tingle a little which is really invigorating. It also left my hair insanely soft and easy to detangle after the shower. Rosemary Mint Purifying Shampoo and Conditioner gives hair a fresh start.
Best part? For my little green machines out there–neither contain parabens, mineral oil, petroleum or artificial colors and they are also SLS/SLES and Sulfate-free.
WHAT IT COSTS: Shampoo, $12.50; Conditioner, $16.00
WHERE TO FIND IT: Carol’s Daughter stores, Macy’s, Dillard’s, SEPHORA.
